OBJECTIVE: Introduction to SMART Recovery which teaches rational, easy to learn and self-empowering skills to help abstain from any addictive behaviour and to develop a lifestyle that supports sustained recovery. There are now over 3,000 weekly meetings worldwide with SMART Recovery groups in 20 different countries and growing.
- Have a good understanding to alternative program for those with issues concerning substance abuse and other problematic behaviours.
- SMART is a program that provides training and tools for people who want to change their problematic behaviour, including addiction to drugs, alcohol, and others.
- Guided by trained facilitators, participants come to help themselves and help each other using a variety of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and motivational tools and techniques.
